     புதுடில்லி:சிறுதொழில் நிறுவனங்களுக்கு வரவேண்டிய தொகை தாமதமாவது தொடர்பான பிரச்னைகளுக்கு தீர்வு அளிப்பதற்கான இணையதளத்தை, ஜனாதிபதி திரவுபதி முர்மு துவக்கி வைத்துள்ளார்.

      இந்த இணையதளம், சிறுதொழில்களின் நிலுவை தாமதமாவது குறித்த தாவாக்களில் விசாரணை மற்றும் முடிவெடுப்பதில் உதவியாக இருக்கும். நிதி, பெருநிறுவனங்களுடன் போட்டி, தாமதமான வரவு ஆகியவை சிறுதொழில்கள் சந்திக்கும் முக்கிய சவால்கள்.

       அரசின் ஊக்கத் திட்டங்களை பயன்படுத்தி, இளம்பெண்கள் சிறுதொழில் துவங்கி, சுயசார்பை நிலைநாட்ட வேண்டும். நவீன தொழில்நுட்பம், பருவநிலை மாற்றம் நிறைந்த இன்றைய சூழலில், பசுமை தொழில்நுட்பத்தை சிறுதொழில்கள் மேம்படுத்த வேண்டும்.

      பசுமை தொழில்நுட்பம் தான், சிறு, குறு, நடுத்தர தொழில்களின் நீடித்த நிலைத்தன்மையையும், போட்டித்தன்மையையும் உறுதிசெய்து, நாட்டின் இலக்குகளை அடையச் செய்யும்.

President Murmu Launches Website to Resolve MSME Payment Issues

     New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu has launched a new website aimed at resolving issues related to delayed payments owed to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

      Speaking at an event in Delhi on the occasion of World MSME Day, the President stated:

      This website will assist in tracking and resolving delayed dues for small businesses. Key challenges faced by MSMEs include funding issues, competition with large companies, and delayed payments.

      She emphasized that young women should utilize government support schemes to start small businesses and become self-reliant. In today’s world of advanced technology and climate change, MSMEs should adopt and develop green technologies.

      Green technology, she noted, will ensure the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of MSMEs, helping the nation achieve its broader development goals.

      Innovation is vital for the growth of the MSME sector. The government is encouraging both startups and innovations, and youth should take full advantage of these opportunities.

      This was the key message shared by President Murmu during her address.

      சேலத்தில் வெள்ளி கொலுசு உற்பத்தி செய்யும் தொழில் நிறுவனங்கள் பயன்பெறுவதற்காக, 102 தொழில் அலகுகளுடன் கூடிய அடுக்குமாடி தொழிற்கூடம் அமைக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது.

     மேலும், காஞ்சிபுரம் வையாவூர், திருவள்ளூர் காவேரிராஜபுரம், துாத்துக்குடி லிங்கம்பட்டி, திருவாரூர் வண்டாம்பாளையில் புதிய தொழிற்பேட்டைகளை சிட்கோ அமைத்து உள்ளது.

     இந்த புதிய தொழிற்பேட்டைகளில் உள்ள மனைகள் மற்றும் ஏற்கனவே உள்ள தொழிற்பேட்டைகளில் இருக்கும் காலி மனைகள் என, மொத்தம், 60 தொழிற்பேட்டைகளில் உள்ள, 1,520 மனைகளை தற்போது தொழில்முனைவோருக்கு ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யும் பணியில், சிட்கோ நிறுவனம் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளது.

1,520 Industrial Plots Available for Entrepreneurs in 60 Industrial Estates

      Chennai: SIDCO (Small Industries Development Corporation) has initiated the allocation process for 1,520 plots located across 60 industrial estates, aimed at benefiting small, micro, and medium-scale entrepreneurs. This includes a multi-storey industrial complex in Salem specifically designed for the silver anklet industry.

      To support silver anklet manufacturing units in Salem, a multi-storey industrial building with 102 units has been established.

     Additionally, SIDCO has set up new industrial estates in Vaiyavur (Kanchipuram), Kaverirajapuram (Tiruvallur), Lingampatti (Thoothukudi), and Vandampalayam (Tiruvarur).

      The plots available in these new estates, along with vacant plots in existing estates, total 1,520 across 60 locations. SIDCO is currently in the process of allocating these plots to eligible entrepreneurs.

      A senior official from the Department of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises stated: Details regarding plot application can be found on SIDCO’s official website, www.tansidco.tn.gov.in. Applicants will be interviewed before plots are allotted.

Hyundai Hits New High

     Shares of automobile manufacturer Hyundai Motor India rose by 2.4% during yesterday’s trading, reaching a new all-time high of ₹2,049 per share. Previously, on October 22 of last year, Hyundai Motor was listed on the stock exchange at ₹1,960 per share.

      In the current month alone, the company’s stock price has increased by 11%. While the reason for the sudden surge in stock price is unclear, it is noteworthy that despite facing challenges in domestic car sales during the current financial year, the company’s exports have significantly increased.

       In the World Economic Forum’s 2025 report on Technology Pioneers, 10 Indian startup companies have been featured. Among them, three companies were founded at IIT Madras.

       This Technology Pioneers report includes 100 early-stage startup companies operating across various sectors from 28 countries.

      Among them, 10 companies are from India. Three of these — Agnikul Cosmos, GalaxEye, and ePlane — are space-sector startups founded at IIT Madras.

Bharat Electronics Receives Orders Worth ₹585 Crore

      Bengaluru: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has announced that it received orders worth ₹585 crore this month. These orders include fire control systems, communication systems, jammers, various spare parts, and related services.

      So far this financial year, the company has received orders totaling ₹3,445 crore. In the previous financial year, it had secured orders worth ₹18,715 crore. BEL is expanding its business by increasing production for non-defence sectors.

      The company also manufactures cybersecurity solutions, software, rail and metro solutions, and space electronics, among other systems.

Additional Container Terminal Planned at Chennai Port Due to 20% Increase in Container Traffic

       The number of containers handled at Chennai Port has increased by 20%, prompting plans to establish an additional container terminal, according to port authorities.

     Speaking on the matter, Chennai Port officials stated:

       “We are undertaking various initiatives to modernize the Chennai Port and boost both exports and imports. Specifically, we are progressively working on infrastructure development, marine environmental protection, and improving connectivity with rail and road transport networks.

     Over the past few years, the container traffic has been growing at a rate of 10 to 15%. But now, we’ve witnessed a 20% surge, which has led us to plan the development of an additional terminal to accommodate this growth.”

      This move aims to enhance port efficiency and support the increasing demand for container handling.

Expansion of Foxconn in Tamil Nadu

      Chennai: Foxconn has planned to expand its operations in India. As part of this plan, the company intends to manufacture the iPhone enclosures (outer casings of iPhones).

    The work for setting up this new division has already begun at Foxconn’s existing display module manufacturing facility located in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.

    Currently, Tata is the only company producing and supplying this particular part domestically. In this context, Foxconn’s entry into this segment marks a significant development.

     This move is expected to increase the overall value of iPhone production by 2 to 3 percent. Though the growth is considered moderate, it is seen as impactful.

     It is noteworthy that Apple iPhones worth ₹1.5 lakh crore were exported from India in the last financial year.

‘Loan Assistance of ₹5,000 Crore for 60,000 Entrepreneurs’ – Stalin at ‘ACME 2025’ Expo

       “Under various self-employment schemes, over the past four years, loan assistance of ₹5,209 crore has been provided to 59,915 new entrepreneurs, along with a subsidy of ₹2,031 crore,” said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin.

      He inaugurated the ‘ACME 2025’ International Machine Tools Exhibition yesterday at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, organized by the Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers Association.

      The exhibition, which will run until June 23, features stalls from 468 domestic and international industrial companies, showcasing advanced products in machine tools, laser technology, and digital manufacturing, among others.

     In his address at the event, the Chief Minister said:

     “Tamil Nadu’s industrial sector is witnessing tremendous growth. The state has over 3.5 million registered micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

     Tamil Nadu ranks third at the national level, and through these MSMEs, employment has been created for 2.47 crore people.

     In the last four years, through various self-employment schemes, 59,915 new entrepreneurs have been supported with ₹5,209 crore in loans and ₹2,031 crore in subsidies.

      In terms of employment generation, MSMEs rank just behind agriculture.

      The advanced technologies displayed in this exhibition should be utilized by small-scale industries to drive progress in Tamil Nadu. The government will stand firmly behind these enterprises in their growth journey.”

சேவைத்துறை ஏற்றுமதி ‘பியோ‘ மகிழ்ச்சி

      கோவை,:இந்திய ஏற்றுமதி கடந்த மே மாதத்தில் 2.8 சதவீத வளர்ச்சி பெற்றுள்ளது. இதில் சேவைத் துறையின் பங்களிப்பு அதிகமாக உள்ளதாக, இந்திய ஏற்றுமதி அமைப்புகளுக்கான கூட்டமைப்பு (பியோ) தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

Service Sector Export Growth: FIEO Delighted

      India’s exports saw a 2.8% growth in the month of May. The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) stated that the service sector played a significant role in this growth.

     Statement by FIEO President Ralhan:
Despite various global trade barriers, India’s exports recorded a 2.8% increase in May. This growth is mainly attributed to the continued progress in services, especially in software, consultancy, and financial services.

       Even amidst global service slowdown, geopolitical tensions, and severe challenges, India’s service sector has shown remarkable performance.

     Imports, when compared to the same period last year, have declined from ₹5.30 lakh crore to ₹5.06 lakh crore.

      This was stated in the official report.

Unemployment Rises to 5.60%

      New Delhi: India’s unemployment rate increased to 5.60% in the month of May, according to a report from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. Notably, the unemployment rate among women rose to 5.80%, while it stood at 5.60% among men.

      In April, the overall unemployment rate was 5.10%, which has now increased to 5.60% in May.

      When viewed by age group, the unemployment rate among individuals below the age of 29 increased from 13.80% to 15%.

      மற்றொரு புறம் கச்சா எண்ணெயின் விலை 8 சதவீதம் அதிகரித்துள்ளதால், கப்பல் போக்குவரத்து செலவும் அதிகரிக்கும். வழக்கமாகவே, சரக்கு கப்பல் போக்குவரத்தைக் காட்டிலும், சரக்கு விமான போக்குவரத்துக்கு 8 சதவீதம் கூடுதல் செலவாகும்.

Israel-Iran Conflict Disrupts Indian Exports

     New Delhi: Following the rising war tensions between Israel and Iran, the cost of cargo transportation for Indian exports is expected to increase by up to 20%.

      Already, Indian aircraft are banned from flying over Pakistan’s airspace. Now, with Iran’s airspace also closed, air cargo transport costs are set to rise further.

      On the other hand, crude oil prices have surged by 8%, which will also increase shipping costs. Generally, air cargo transport is already about 8% more expensive than sea cargo transport.

       After several months of disruption, India had only recently resumed its cargo shipping via the Red Sea. However, due to the current situation, shipping through the Red Sea and Suez Canal is once again expected to be affected.

      Around 80% of India’s exports to European countries, and a majority of exports to the United States, are sent via sea routes.

      புதுடில்லி : இந்திய பயணியர் கார் சந்தையில், மின்சார கார்களின் பங்கு 4.10 சதவீதமாக உயர்ந்து, புதிய மைல்கல்லை எட்டி உள்ளதாக, வாகன முகவர்கள் சங்கங்களின் கூட்டமைப்பு வெளியிட்டுள்ள மே மாத விற்பனை தரவுகள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.

      கடந்த ஆண்டு மே மாதத்தில் விற்பனை 2.60 சதவீதமாகவும்; கடந்த ஏப்ரலில் 3.50 சதவீதமாகவும் இருந்தது.

     கடந்த ஆண்டு மே மாதத்தில் 8,029 மின்சார கார்கள் விற்பனையான நிலையில், இந்த ஆண்டு இதே மாதத்தில் 12,304 கார்கள் விற்பனை செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன. டாடா மோட்டார்ஸ் நிறுவனம், 4,351 மின்சார கார்களை விற்பனை செய்து முதல் இடத்தில் நீடிக்கிறது.

     அதை தொடர்ந்து, 3,765 கார்களை விற்பனை செய்து, எம்.ஜி., மோட்டார்ஸ் நிறுவனம் இரண்டாம் இடத்திலும், 2,632 கார்களை விற்பனை செய்து, மஹிந்திரா மூன்றாவது இடத்திலும் உள்ளன. மொத்தம் விற்பனையான மின்சார கார்களில், இந்த மூன்று நிறுவனங்களின் சந்தை பங்கு மட்டும் 87 சதவீதம்.

Electric Car Market Rises to 4% Share

      New Delhi: The market share of electric cars in India’s passenger vehicle segment has reached a new milestone, increasing to 4.10%, according to May sales data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA).

      In comparison, the share was 2.60% in May last year and 3.50% in April this year.

       While 8,029 electric cars were sold in May last year, the number rose to 12,304 in May this year.

Tata Motors topped the chart with sales of 4,351 electric cars, followed by MG Motors in second place with 3,765 units, and Mahindra in third with 2,632 units.

      Together, these three companies account for 87% of the total electric car market share in the country.

All-Women Assembly Line: Royal Enfield’s Chengam Factory to Become Fully Female-Operated

    Chennai: At the Royal Enfield manufacturing plant located in the Chengam area of Tiruvannamalai district, Tamil Nadu, a dedicated all-women production line is already in place. Now, the company plans to convert the entire factory into an all-women-operated facility, according to its CEO Govindarajan.

In a post shared on his social media, he stated:

     “We have established an all-women production line at our Chengam plant. Work is currently underway to convert this unit into a 100% women-operated facility.”

      A few years ago, only 5% of the company’s total workforce were women. That figure has now increased to 20%. The highest representation is at the Vallam plant in Kanchipuram, where 26% of employees are women.

      Women are working across various domains — from engineering and manufacturing to marketing and other business functions — helping to shape the future of Royal Enfield.

      In the past financial year, 24% of the newly recruited employees were women, which surpassed the company’s target set for that year.

He further mentioned:

     Several companies like Schwing Stetter, Ashok Leyland, LG Equipments, and Ola are also giving priority to employing women in automobile and machinery production.

     Nationwide, 43% of women employed in the manufacturing sector are based in Tamil Nadu.

      சென்னை :  அம்பத்துார் தொழிற்பேட்டை உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் சங்கமான ஏ.ஐ.இ.எம்.ஏ., ‘ஆக்மி 2025’ என்ற பெயரில் இயந்திர கருவிகள் கண்காட்சியை, சென்னை நந்தம்பாக்கம் வர்த்தக மையத்தில், வரும் 19ம் தேதி முதல் 23ம் தேதி வரை நடத்துகிறது. இதில், பல நாடுகளின் தொழில் நிறுவனங்கள் பங்கேற்கின்றன.

     இது குறித்து, சங்கத்தின் தலைவர் சதீஷ்பாபு கூறியதாவது:

      அம்பத்துார் தொழிற்பேட்டையில் 2,000 தொழில் நிறுவனங்களும், தொழிற்பேட்டையை சுற்றி 5,000 நிறுவனங்களும் செயல்படுகின்றன. அவற்றின் வாயிலாக ஆண்டுக்கு, 20,000 கோடி ரூபாய்க்கு வியாபாரம் நடக்கிறது. அதில், 30 சதவீதம் ஏற்றுமதி செய்யப்படுகிறது.

ACMEE 2025″ Machine Tools Exhibition to be Held in Chennai from June 19

     Chennai: The Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers Association (AIEMA) is organizing a machinery tools exhibition named “ACMEE 2025” at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, from June 19 to 23. Several industrial companies from different countries will participate in the event.

     Regarding this, the Association’s President, Satish Babu, said:

     There are around 2,000 industrial units operating in the Ambattur Industrial Estate and 5,000 companies in the surrounding areas. Through these, an annual business turnover of ₹20,000 crore is achieved, with 30% of it being exports.

     The ACMEE 2025 exhibition is being held in the context of a changing business environment.

     Through this event, strong interest in the industrial sector will be generated. Entrepreneurs and startup companies will have the opportunity to learn about the latest global advancements in machinery tools and manufacturing technologies.

     In the previous exhibition held in 2023, business deals worth ₹600 crore were made. This year, business transactions worth ₹750 crore are expected. Various sectors including machine tools, laser technology, industrial robotics, and artificial intelligence will participate.

Mini Industrial Park for Tiruppur… Boost for Micro and Small Enterprises

      Tiruppur: There is growing demand for the Tamil Nadu government to give priority to Tiruppur under its Mini Industrial Park Scheme to support the development of new industries.

     Tiruppur is a leader not only in exports but also in domestic production of baniyan (innerwear) garments. Garments made from cotton yarn-based knitted fabric are manufactured here and distributed to markets across the country.

     Retail traders from across India get their garments stitched in Tiruppur. Therefore, the new industrial park scheme is seen as crucial for Tiruppur’s future growth, benefitting export companies, large-scale domestic garment manufacturers, and micro and small innerwear producers.

     Over the past 25 years, the SIDCO complex in Mudalipalayam and the New Tiruppur Netaji Apparel Park have been operating successfully. However, the TAHDCO industrial estate, built for SC entrepreneurs, has remained largely unused, with only a few entrepreneurs currently utilizing the facility. Large-scale development works are now underway at the site.

     There is concern that existing industrial parks have mostly benefitted small and medium enterprises, while micro and tiny units have not received adequate support through such government schemes.

Tamil Nadu Sets Up Investment Facilitation Desk in Vietnam

         Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government’s investment promotion agency, known as “Guidance,” is actively working to attract major industrial investments to the state.

        As part of this effort, the Guidance agency is planning to set up “Guidance Desks” in countries such as the United States, Germany, South Korea, and Vietnam. These desks will provide direct guidance and support services to investors from these countries who are interested in starting industries in Tamil Nadu.

      Accordingly, the Guidance Desk in Vietnam was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Industries, Mr. Raja, who is currently visiting the country to attract investments.

        A representative appointed by Tamil Nadu will be stationed in Vietnam to liaise with companies there, sharing details about the incentives and support offered by the Tamil Nadu government to start businesses in the state.

       வாகனத் தயாரிப்பு, சுற்றுலா, வங்கி, நிதி, உற்பத்தி, நுகர்பொருட்கள் உள்ளிட்ட துறைகளில், பல்வேறு கல்வித்தகுதியை கொண்ட இளைஞர்களுக்கு நிறுவனங்கள் வாய்ப்புகளை வழங்கி இருந்தன.

       இந்நிலையில், பிரதமர் தொழில் பயிற்சி திட்டத்தின் இணையதளத்தில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ள தரவுகளின்படி, மொத்த தொழில் பயிற்சி வாய்ப்புகள் அளித்த மாநிலங்களில், 13.25 சதவீத பங்களிப்புடன் தமிழகம் முதல் இடத்தை பிடித்து உள்ளது.

      மஹாராஷ்டிரா, குஜராத் மாநிலங்கள் இரண்டாவது, மூன்றாவது இடங்களை பிடித்து உள்ளன.

Prime Minister’s Skill Training Scheme: Tamil Nadu Leads in Providing Opportunities

        New Delhi: Under the Prime Minister’s Skill Training Scheme, Tamil Nadu has secured the top position among the states that have provided the highest number of opportunities to youth.

       The scheme was announced during the previous budget presentation. Under this initiative, selected youth aged between 21 and 24 are offered 12 months of skill training with leading companies. They receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 and an annual grant of ₹6,000.

         The Central Government had stated that this scheme aims to identify talented youth and help them access suitable employment opportunities.

       The first round of applications for this scheme began and ended on October 3 of last year. In the second round of application registrations, 327 leading companies from 735 districts participated and offered 1.19 lakh skill training opportunities.

       These opportunities were provided to youth with various educational qualifications in sectors such as automobile manufacturing, tourism, banking, finance, manufacturing, and consumer goods.

       According to data published on the official website of the Prime Minister’s Skill Training Scheme, Tamil Nadu has taken the top position among the states in terms of total training opportunities provided, contributing 13.25% of the total.

      Maharashtra and Gujarat secured the second and third positions respectively.

India-EU Conclude Another Round of Trade Talks

         New Delhi: Another round of negotiations between India and the European Union (EU) for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) has concluded. According to an official, both sides have agreed to finalize the agreement in two phases.

       India and the 27-member European Union have completed another round of discussions regarding the trade agreement. Due to global trade uncertainty caused by U.S. tariff policies, both parties have agreed to conclude the Free Trade Agreement in two stages.

        India has followed the same two-phase negotiation approach in the current talks, similar to the one used during its Free Trade Agreement negotiations with Australia.

        It is reported that the talks covered market access concessions in goods, services, and investments.

       In addition to the Free Trade Agreement, discussions are also ongoing regarding an Investment Protection Agreement and a Geographical Indications (GI) Agreement.

     சென்னை:சிறு, குறு, நடுத்தர தொழில் நிறுவனங்களிடம் இருந்து கொள்முதல் செய்த பொருட்களுக்கு, பெரிய நிறுவனங்கள் 45 நாட்களுக்குள் பணம் வழங்குவதை உறுதி செய்யுமாறு அதிகாரிகளை, தமிழக அரசின், ‘சிப்காட்’ நிறுவனம் அறிவுறுத்தியுள்ளது.

      தமிழகத்தில் உள்ள சிறு, குறு, நடுத்தர தொழில் நிறுவனங்களிடம் இருந்து உதிரி பாகங்கள் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு பொருட்களை, பெரிய நிறுவனங்கள், பொதுத்துறை நிறுவனங்கள் கொள்முதல் செய்கின்றன. இந்நிலையில் சிறு, குறு, நடுத்தர நிறுவனங்களிடம் இருந்து பொருட்களை வாங்கும் பல பெரிய நிறுவனங்கள், அதற்கான பணத்தை குறித்த காலத்தில் தருவதில்லை என, புகார்கள் எழுகின்றன.

     இந்நிலையில், சிப்காட் அனுப்பியுள்ள சுற்றறிக்கையில் கூறியிருப்பதாவது:

       சட்டப்படி சிறு, குறு, நடுத்தர நிறுவனங்கள் வழங்கும் பொருட்கள் அல்லது சேவைகளுக்கான பணம், 45 நாட்களுக்குள் செலுத்தப்பட வேண்டும். தாமதம் ஆனால், வங்கி வட்டி விகிதத்தை விட மூன்று மடங்கு வட்டியுடன் சேர்த்து நிலுவை தொகை வழங்கப்பட வேண்டும். பணம் கிடைக்காத நிறுவனங்கள், எம்.எஸ்.எம்.இ., கவுன்சிலில் உதவி பெறலாம். அல்லது, தேசிய நிறுவன சட்ட தீர்ப்பாயத்தை அணுகலாம்.

       இவை, சரியான நேரத்தில் பணம் கிடைப்பதை உறுதி செய்வதையும், நிறுவனங்களின் நிதி நிலைமையையும் பாதுகாக்கின்றன. பெரிய நிறுவனங்கள் விதிமுறைப்படி நடக்கின்றனவா என்பதை அதிகாரிகள் உறுதி செய்ய வேண்டும்.

SIPCOT Issues Directive to Officials on Pending Payments to Small Industries

     Chennai: Tamil Nadu’s industrial development body SIPCOT has issued instructions to its officials to ensure that large companies make payments within 45 days for goods purchased from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

      In Tamil Nadu, many large and public sector companies procure spare parts and various other products from MSMEs. However, there have been complaints that these larger companies often delay payments beyond the stipulated time frame.

      In a recent circular, SIPCOT stated the following:

     “As per law, payments for goods or services provided by MSMEs must be made within 45 days. In case of delay, the outstanding amount must be paid with interest at three times the bank rate.

     If payments are not received, MSMEs can approach the MSME Council for help or take the matter to the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).

    These measures are meant to ensure timely payments and protect the financial health of MSMEs.

     Officials must ensure that large companies comply with these rules.”

     This directive aims to strengthen financial support and fairness for small-scale industries.

      Mumbai: Shares of Indian defense equipment manufacturing companies saw a significant rise in trading yesterday, following Prime Minister Modi’s emphasis on the need for self-reliance in military equipment production.

       The Nifty index for defense manufacturing companies rose by 4.12%, closing at 7,432 points. Shares of various defense equipment manufacturing firms saw an increase ranging from 3% to 11%.

        This surge comes in the backdrop of Air Marshal A.K. Bharti commending the successful performance of India’s Akash missile in recent strikes against terrorist positions in Pakistan. Start-Up Loan Guarantee Increased to ₹20 Crore

      New Delhi: In a move to make it easier for start-up companies to obtain loans, the central government has increased the maximum loan amount covered under the loan guarantee scheme to ₹20 crore.

      As part of the ‘Start-up India’ initiative, the central government has been implementing a loan guarantee scheme for start-ups since 2022.

      Accordingly, companies registered with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), which operates under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, can obtain loans of up to ₹10 crore without collateral from banks and financial institutions.

New Changes:

  • For loans up to ₹10 crore, up to 85% guarantee coverage
  • For loans above ₹10 crore, up to 75% guarantee coverage
  • Maximum loan guarantee increased to ₹20 crore
  • Annual guarantee fee for companies in 27 champion sectors reduced from 2% to 1%

Satellite Internet Service: Approval for Elon Musk’s Starlink

        New Delhi: The central government has granted preliminary approval to Elon Musk’s Starlink for providing satellite-based internet services in India. Once the company obtains the required license from the government, it can officially begin operations in the country.

       India’s satellite internet market is rapidly expanding. To allow private players to offer satellite services, the government released the Indian Space Policy in 2023. Following this, several domestic and international companies have shown interest in entering the satellite internet space.

      While companies like Airtel and Jio have already received approvals, applications from Starlink and Project Kuiper are under review by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). In this context, on May 7, the Department of Telecommunications officially issued a permission letter to Starlink.

          New Delhi: In a move to transform India’s vocational education system, the Union Cabinet has approved a national scheme to upgrade industrial training institutes (ITIs) at a cost of ₹60,000 crore.

Key Highlights:

  • Under the new scheme, 1,000 government-run Industrial Training Institutes will be integrated under a unified system, with a focus on restructuring training programs to suit industrial requirements.
  • The goal is to skill 2 million (20 lakh) youth over five years.
  • Infrastructure development will be prioritized in Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Kanpur, and Ludhiana.
  • 50,000 trainers will be trained under the scheme.

IPO Coming Soon: Mauri Tech

          Mauri Tech, a company primarily focused on artificial intelligence and providing IT services, has applied to SEBI to raise ₹1,500 crore through an Initial Public Offering (IPO). The company had applied last year as well but withdrew its application in December without disclosing a clear reason.

       Now, in its latest filing, the company stated it plans to raise ₹250 crore through fresh issue of shares and ₹1,250 crore through an offer for sale by existing shareholders. The funds raised will be used to repay debts of its U.S.-based subsidiary and for acquiring other companies, according to the company.

Financial Support for Environmental Startups

       Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government is providing financial assistance to startups involved in environmental protection sectors.

According to a government press release:

      Climate change poses a threat to the Earth, all living beings, and their livelihoods. Therefore, urgent measures are needed to mitigate the effects of climate change and to enhance climate resilience.

       To address these challenges, the Tamil Nadu government launched an initiative called “Sustain TN” in 2024–25 through the Department of Climate Change. This initiative aims to identify and support startups working in areas such as environmental protection, green energy, sustainable resource management, climate finance, and eco-friendly technologies.

        As part of this initiative, the Tamil Nadu Climate Change Mission, in collaboration with Anna University and Startup TN, has identified 10 promising startups and innovative projects in these fields. Each of these startups will receive a grant of ₹10 lakh to expand their business, along with access to new market opportunities.

 

இருசக்கர மின் வாகன விற்பனை 40 சதவிகிதம் அதிகரிப்பு

       சென்னை:வாகன பதிவேடு தரவுகளின் படி, மின்சார இருசக்கர வாகனங்களின் விற்பனை, கடந்த ஏப்ரலில் 40 சதவீதம் அதிகரித்துள்ளது. கடந்த ஆண்டு ஏப்ரலில், 65,552 வாகனங்கள் விற்பனையான நிலையில், கடந்த மாதத்தில் 91,791 வாகனங்கள் விற்பனை செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன.

      இதில், ஓலா மற்றும் பஜாஜ் நிறுவனங்களை பின்னுக்கு தள்ளி, டி.வி.எஸ்., நிறுவனம் முதல் இடத்தை பிடித்துள்ளது. டி.வி.எஸ்., நிறுவனத்தின் ‘ஐ க்யூப்’ மின்சார ஸ்கூட்டரின் விற்பனை, 154 சதவீதம் அதிகரித்துள்ளது.

       இரண்டாம் இடத்தில் உள்ள ஓலாவும் மூன்றாம் இடத்தில் பஜாஜ் நிறுவனமும் உள்ளன. இவற்றை ஏத்தர், ஹீரோ மோட்டோகார்ப், கிரீவ்ஸ் எலக்ட்ரிக் உள்ளிட்ட நிறுவனங்கள் பின்தொடர்கின்றன.

Electric Two-Wheeler Sales Increase by 40%

       Chennai: According to vehicle registration data, the sales of electric two-wheelers increased by 40% this past April. While 65,552 vehicles were sold in April last year, 91,791 vehicles were sold last month.

      Among the manufacturers, TVS has taken the top spot, surpassing Ola and Bajaj. Sales of TVS’s electric scooter, the iQube, have increased by 154%.

       Ola secured the second position, followed by Bajaj in third. Other companies such as Ather, Hero MotoCorp, and Greaves Electric are trailing behind them.

        சென்னை:தமிழகத்தில் குறைந்த முதலீட்டில் செயல்படும் குறுந்தொழில் நிறுவனங்களால், தங்களின் தொழிலுக்கு தேவைப்படும் நவீன கருவிகள், தளவாடங்கள் போன்றவற்றை வாங்குவதற்காக அதிக செலவு செய்ய முடிவதில்லை.

     எனவே, குறுந்தொழில் குழும மேம்பாட்டு திட்டத்தின் கீழ், இத்தகைய நிறுவனங்கள் பயன் பெற, 222 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் 36 பொது வசதி மையங்கள் அமைக்கும் பணி, கடந்த 2022 – 23ல் துவங்கியது. இதில், 178 கோடி ரூபாய் தமிழக அரசின் மானியம்.

     இதன்படி, விருதுநகரில் ஆயத்த ஆடை குழுமம், கன்னியாகுமரியில் ஜவுளி ஆடைகள் குழுமம், கடலுார் விருத்தாசலத்தில் செராமிக் குழுமம் என, மாநிலம் முழுதும் அமைக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

      ஒரே தொழிலில் ஈடுபடும் 20 அல்லது அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட நிறுவனங்கள் பயன் பெறும் வகையில், இங்கெல்லாம் பொது வசதி மையம் அமைக்கப்படுகின்றன. இங்குள்ள நவீன கருவிகள், இயந்திரங்களை, குழுமத்தில் இடம்பெறும் நிறுவனங்கள் பயன்படுத்திக் கொள்ளலாம்.

      இந்த வகையில், செங்கல்பட்டில் புகைப்படக் கலைஞர்களுக்கான மையம் உட்பட, எட்டு குறுந்தொழில் குழும பொது வசதி மையங்கள் செயல்பாட்டிற்கு வந்துள்ளன.

Instruction to Expedite the Establishment of Common Facility Centers

      Chennai: In Tamil Nadu, small-scale industries operating with limited investment often cannot afford to purchase modern equipment and infrastructure required for their operations.

      To support such enterprises, under the Cluster Development Programme for Small Industries, the establishment of 36 Common Facility Centers (CFCs) was initiated in 2022–23 at a total cost of ₹222 crore, with ₹178 crore provided as a subsidy by the Tamil Nadu government.

      Accordingly, clusters such as the readymade garments cluster in Virudhunagar, textile garments cluster in Kanyakumari, and ceramic cluster in Vriddhachalam (Cuddalore district) are being established across the state. These CFCs are being set up in locations where 20 or more industries engaged in the same sector can benefit. The modern tools and machinery available at these centers can be used by the member industries within the cluster.

       So far, eight small industry cluster-based Common Facility Centers, including one for photographers in Chengalpattu, have been made operational.

        The Department of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises has instructed district-level industry center officials to coordinate with industrial units and expedite the operationalization of the remaining centers.

       புதுடில்லி: கடந்த மார்ச் மாதத்தில் நாட்டின் தொழில் துறை உற்பத்தி வளர்ச்சி 3 சதவீதமாக சற்றே அதிகரித்துள்ளது என, மத்திய புள்ளியியல் துறை அமைச்சகத்தின் தரவுகளில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது.

      இது, முந்தைய பிப்ரவரி மாதத்தின் வளர்ச்சியை காட்டிலும் சிறிது அதிகம். பிப்ரவரி வளர்ச்சி முன்பிருந்த 2.90 சதவீதத்திலிருந்து, தற்போது 2.70 சதவீதமாக திருத்தம் செய்யப்பட்டு உள்ளது. இந்நிலையில், கடந்தாண்டு மார்ச் மாதத்தின் 5.50 சதவீதத்துடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில், கடந்த மாதம் வளர்ச்சி சரிந்துள்ளது.

      சமீபத்தில் தொழில் துறை உற்பத்தி தொடர்பான தரவுகளை வெளியிடுவதற்கான கால வரையறையை, மத்திய அரசு ஆறு வாரங்களில் இருந்து நான்கு வாரங்களாக குறைத்தது. இதன்படி, முதல்முறையாக கடந்த மாதத்துக்கான தரவுகள் நான்கு வாரங்களில் வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளன.

      கடந்தாண்டு மார்ச்சுடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில், நடப்பாண்டு மார்ச்சில் தயாரிப்பு, சுரங்கம், மின்சாரம் ஆகிய துறைகளின் வளர்ச்சி கணிசமாக குறைந்துள்ளது.

     நிதியாண்டு ஒப்பீட்டில், 2024 – 25ம் நிதியாண்டில் சராசரி தொழில் துறை உற்பத்தி வளர்ச்சி 4 சதவீதமாக குறைந்துள்ளது. இது, 2023 – 24ம் நிதியாண்டில் 5.90 சதவீதமாக இருந்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

Slight Increase in Industrial Production Growth in March

      New Delhi: The country’s industrial production growth slightly increased to 3% in March, according to data released by the Union Ministry of Statistics.

     This marks a small rise compared to the previous month, February, whose growth figure has been revised down from 2.90% to 2.70%. However, when compared to March of last year, which recorded a 5.50% growth rate, the latest figure indicates a decline in growth.

        Recently, the central government reduced the data release window for industrial production statistics from six weeks to four weeks. Accordingly, for the first time, the data for the previous month has been released within four weeks.

      Compared to March of the previous year, growth in sectors such as manufacturing, mining, and electricity has significantly declined in March this year.

      On a fiscal year basis, the average industrial production growth for the financial year 2024–25 has decreased to 4%. This is notably lower than the 5.90% recorded in the 2023–24 financial year.

₹200 Crore Investment Agreements Signed for Biogas Sector

     Chennai: Through the RenewX 2025 exhibition on renewable energy held in Chennai, investment agreements worth ₹200 crore have been secured, according to the Indian Biogas Association (IBA).

     The three-day RenewX 2025 exhibition and conference on renewable energy was organized by Informa Markets at Nandambakkam, Chennai. The event featured stakeholders from sectors such as bioenergy, solar power, wind energy, and energy storage and management, who participated in discussions and seminars.

      As a result of the event, various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) amounting to over ₹200 crore have been signed for the biogas sector, the IBA stated.

      சென்னை:சென்னைக்கு அருகில், ‘இந்தோ – தைவான்’ தொழில் பூங்கா அமைப்பதற்காக, தமிழக அரசின், ‘கெய்டன்ஸ்’ நிறுவனம் மற்றும் தைவான் வர்த்தக கூட்டமைப்பு இடையே நேற்று புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் கையெழுத்தானது.

      தமிழகத்தில் எலக்ட்ரானிக்ஸ், காலணி போன்ற துறைகளில் தொழில் துவங்குவதில், தைவான் நாட்டை சேர்ந்த நிறுவனங்களின் பங்கு அதிகம்.

      எனவே, தைவான் நாட்டு நிறுவனங்களுக்காக உதிரி பாகங்களை உற்பத்தி செய்யும் நிறுவனங்கள் ஆலை அமைப்பதற்காக சர்வதேச தரத்தில், தைவானிய தொழில் பூங்காவை உருவாக்க, தமிழக அரசு முடிவு செய்துஉள்ளது.

       இதற்கான அறிவிப்பை சட்டசபையில், தொழில் துறை அமைச்சர் ராஜா நேற்று முன்தினம் வெளியிட்டார்.

        இந்த பூங்கா, தைவான் நிறுவனங்களின் 10,000 கோடி ரூபாய் முதலீடுகளை ஈர்ப்பதை இலக்காக கொண்டிருக்கிறது. இதனால், 20,000 பேருக்கு வேலைவாய்ப்பு உருவாக்க திட்டமிடப்பட்டு உள்ளது.

      இதை தொடர்ந்து, சென்னைக்கு அருகில், ‘இந்தோ – தைவான்’ தொழில் பூங்கா அமைப்பதற்கான புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம், தமிழக அரசின், ‘கெய்டன்ஸ்’ எனப்படும் வழிகாட்டி நிறுவனம், தைவான் வர்த்தக கூட்டமைப்பு இடையில், சென்னையில் அமைச்சர் ராஜா முன்னிலையில் கையெழுத்தானது.

Agreement Signed for ‘Indo-Taiwan’ Industrial Park near Chennai

      Chennai: An MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed yesterday between the Tamil Nadu government’s Guidance Corporation and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council to establish an ‘Indo-Taiwan’ Industrial Park near Chennai.

     Taiwanese companies have shown a growing interest in starting businesses in Tamil Nadu, especially in sectors such as electronics and footwear.

     To support these companies, the Tamil Nadu government has decided to set up a Taiwan-style industrial park of international standards, specifically aimed at housing component manufacturing units that cater to Taiwanese firms.

      This announcement was made in the state assembly two days ago by Minister for Industries, Mr. Rajaa.

      The park aims to attract investments worth ₹10,000 crore from Taiwanese companies and is expected to generate employment for around 20,000 people.

      Following this, the MoU to set up the Indo-Taiwan Industrial Park near Chennai was officially signed in the presence of Minister Rajaa by the Guidance Corporation and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council.

      In the first phase, the park is expected to attract investments of ₹1,800 crore and create job opportunities for 5,000 people.

New Directive for Companies on CSR Fund Spending

     Chennai: Companies have been instructed to spend their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds through the District Collector, according to Minister of Industries Mr. Raja.

    In the State Assembly, he shared the following information:

     The government has already informed companies that they should implement welfare schemes in areas surrounding their establishments using their CSR funds.

      Usually, companies provide direct support to schools and hospitals through their CSR contributions. However, if elected representatives are involved in the distribution of CSR funds, the public can receive greater benefits.

      Hence, we have now instructed companies to spend their CSR funds through the District Collector.

    This is what the minister stated.

      எந்தெந்த மாவட்டத்தில் எத்தனை நிறுவனங்கள் உள்ளன, அவை என்னென்ன பொருட்களை உற்பத்தி செய்கின்றன என்பது தொடர்பான துல்லிய விபரங்கள், அரசிடம் இல்லை. எனவே, தமிழக சிறு, குறு, நடுத்தர தொழில் துறையின் கீழ் செயல்படும், ‘பேம் டி.என்’ நிறுவனம், தொழில் நிறுவனங்களின் விபரங்கள் அடங்கிய தமிழக தொழில் தரவு தளத்தை உருவாக்கி வருகிறது.

       இதற்காக, மின்சார வாரியம், வணிக வரி, உள்ளாட்சி அமைப்புகள், சிப்காட், சிட்கோ உள்ளிட்ட அரசு நிறுவனங்கள் மற்றும் துறைகளிடம் இருந்து, பதிவு செய்துள்ள நிறுவனங்களின் விபரம் சேகரிக்கப்படுகிறது.

      கடந்த ஆண்டு இறுதியில் துவங்கிய இந்த பணியில் இதுவரை, 12 துறைகளில் இருந்து, 17 லட்சம் நிறுவனங்களின் விபரங்கள் சேகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

Collection of 1.7 Million Company Records for Tamil Nadu Government’s Industrial Database

      Chennai: To support businesses, the Tamil Nadu government’s “Facilitation for Enterprise Management Tamil Nadu” (FaMe TN) is developing an industrial database. So far, details of 1.7 million Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have been collected through various government departments.

     The government currently lacks accurate data on how many companies exist in each district and what products they manufacture. To address this, FaMe TN, operating under the Tamil Nadu MSME department, is building a comprehensive industrial database for the state.

     For this initiative, information is being gathered from multiple government bodies and departments such as the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Commercial Tax Department, Local Bodies, SIPCOT, and SIDCO, based on registered companies.

     Launched at the end of last year, this effort has so far collected data from 12 departments, covering 1.7 million companies.

     Among them, efforts have been made to register 5.82 lakh companies on the central government’s “Udyam” portal, which helps businesses avail subsidies and schemes from both central and state governments. Work is ongoing to register the remaining companies as well.

Private Sector Growth at Eight-Month High

     New Delhi – Growth in the country’s private sector has reached its highest level in eight months, according to a survey by HSBC Bank.

     The Flash PMI (Purchasing Managers’ Index), which is released monthly, showed that the composite PMI rose to 60 points this month.

      This marks the highest overall growth since August last year. It is noteworthy that the index was at 59.5 points last month. An index above 50 indicates expansion.

     It has been reported that foreign orders for manufacturing sector companies have increased, following US President Trump’s decision to pause reciprocal tariffs for 90 days.

     New orders in the services sector have also increased this month.

      Chennai: Under the Ministry of Defence, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) operates to meet the country’s defense needs. DRDO undertakes the development of advanced weapons systems, military technologies, and equipment within India.

To facilitate the procurement of the necessary components from industries in Tamil Nadu, the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), a state-run organization, is assisting in the process.

      Accordingly, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Aerospace & Defence Industrial Development Corporation, TIDCO is organizing a “DRDO Defence Conference – Tamil Nadu” in Chennai on the 26th of this month.

       புதுடில்லி:கடந்த 2025ம் நிதியாண்டில் வாகனங்கள் ஏற்றுமதி 19 சதவீதம் அதிகரித்து 53 லட்சத்தை தாண்டியுள்ளதாக சியாம் தெரிவித்து உள்ளது.

      இதுகுறித்து சியாம் எனப்படும் இந்திய ஆட்டோமொபைல் உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் சங்கம் தெரிவித்திருப்பதாவது:

        வெளிநாட்டு சந்தைகளில் இந்தியாவில் உற்பத்தி செய்யப்படும் பயணியர் வாகனங்கள், இரு சக்கர வாகனங்கள் மற்றும் வணிக வாகனங்களுக்கான தேவை வலுவாக இருந்ததன் காரணமாக, இந்தியாவின் வாகனங்கள் ஏற்றுமதி 2025ம் நிதியாண்டில் 19 சதவீதம் அதிகரித்து 53.63 லட்சமாக உயர்ந்துள்ளது. இந்த எண்ணிக்கை, முந்தைய நிதியாண்டான 2023 – 24ல், 45 லட்சமாக இருந்தது.

      இந்தியாவின் உற்பத்தி தரம் மேம்பட்டு வருவதால், சில நிறுவனங்கள் வளர்ந்த சந்தைகளுக்கும் வாகனங்களை ஏற்றுமதி செய்ய துவங்கியுள்ளன. புதிய மாடல்கள் மற்றும் புதிய சந்தைகள், இரு சக்கர வாகன ஏற்றுமதிக்கான தடத்தை விரிவுபடுத்த உதவியுள்ளன.

 

Vehicle Exports Increase by 19%

      New Delhi: Vehicle exports crossed 5.3 million units in the 2025 financial year, marking a 19% increase, according to SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers).

     SIAM stated:
Due to strong demand in foreign markets for passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles manufactured in India, vehicle exports rose by 19% in the 2025 financial year, reaching 5.363 million units. This figure stood at 4.5 million units in the previous financial year, 2023–24.

      With the improving quality of Indian manufacturing, some companies have also started exporting vehicles to developed markets. New models and emerging markets have helped expand the scope of two-wheeler exports.

Ready-Built Industrial Facility in SIPCOT Park

        Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government’s SIPCOT (State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu) is establishing industrial parks with various infrastructure facilities to attract large-scale industries. Accordingly, an industrial park has been developed on 2,622 acres in Perundurai, Erode district.

      To support small, micro, and medium enterprises and promote the export of their products, SIPCOT has constructed a ready-built industrial facility, known as a “Plug and Play” unit, within the Perundurai Industrial Park. This facility spans 49,794 square feet on 5 acres and includes a utility building.

       This is SIPCOT’s first ready-built industrial facility, and the organization is now involved in leasing it out to industrial companies.

No GST on UPI Transactions

    New Delhi: The Union Finance Ministry has clarified that there is no plan to levy GST on UPI transactions exceeding ₹2,000.

      This clarification comes in response to reports suggesting that the government is considering imposing GST on such transactions. The ministry dismissed these reports as baseless and untrue, stating that no such proposal is currently under consideration.

      The government emphasized that it continues to promote cashless transactions through UPI and noted that, as part of this effort, a scheme has been in place since the financial year 2021–22 to provide incentives to merchants for accepting low-value UPI transactions.

      புதுடில்லி:தொழில்துறை உற்பத்தி குறித்த தரவுகள், இனி ஒவ்வொரு மாதமும் 28ம் தேதி வெளியிடப்படும் என மத்திய புள்ளியியல் அமைச்சகம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. தற்போது ஒரு மாதத்துக்கான தொழில்துறை உற்பத்தி தரவுகள், 42 நாட்கள், அதாவது ஆறு வாரங்களுக்கு பிறகே வெளியிடப்படுகிறது. புதிய நடைமுறையில் இது 28 நாட்களாக குறைகிறது.

      இதன்படி, இம்மாதம் முதல், 28ம் தேதி மாலை 4:00 மணிக்கு தரவுகள் வெளியிடப்படும்; 28 அன்று விடுமுறை தினமாக இருந்தால், அடுத்த வேலை நாளில் வெளியிடப்படும்.

Industrial Production Data to Be Released in Advance

        New Delhi: The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has announced that industrial production data will now be released on the 28th of every month. Currently, the data for a given month is released after 42 days, or about six weeks. Under the new system, this time frame will be reduced to 28 days.

       Accordingly, starting this month, the data will be released at 4:00 PM on the 28th. If the 28th falls on a holiday, the data will be released on the next working day.

      The ministry stated that it has been making continuous efforts to reduce the time taken to release economic data. As part of this effort, steps have been taken to release industrial production data two weeks earlier than before.

       சென்னை:சென்னையை சேர்ந்த ‘கருடா ஏரோஸ்பேஸ்’ என்ற ட்ரோன் ஸ்டார்ட் அப் நிறுவனம், நிதி திரட்டல் இரண்டாம் சுற்றில், 100 கோடி ரூபாய் முதலீடு பெற்றுள்ளது. புதிய பங்கு வெளியீட்டுக்கு வரும் இந்நிறுவனம், இதுவரை இரண்டு சுற்றுகளில், 160 கோடி ரூபாய் வரை முதலீடு பெற்றுள்ளது. தற்போது, இந்நிறுவனத்தின் மதிப்பு, 2,134 கோடி ரூபாயாக உள்ளது.

Chennai Drone Startup Raises ₹100 Crore in Funding

     Chennai: Chennai-based drone startup Garuda Aerospace has raised ₹100 crore in its second round of funding. The company, which is preparing for a new equity issuance, has so far secured a total of ₹160 crore across two funding rounds. The current valuation of the company stands at ₹2,134 crore.

     The funds will be used to expand its manufacturing facility, and for research, development, and testing of advanced military drones. In particular, the company plans to set up a new 35,000 sq. ft. facility for the production of drone spare parts and related components. At present, the company operates a 24,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility.

     Founder Agnishwar Jayaprakash stated that the company is operating profitably and generated ₹120 crore in revenue in the last financial year.

     The company offers services across various sectors including government, agriculture, construction, and defense.

Increase in SUV, MPV models in car sales

      New Delhi: The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has released the vehicle sales report for the 2024-25 fiscal year. The passenger car sales have increased by 2%, with a record 4.3 million cars sold.

       In the total passenger car sales, 65% of the share is held by SUVs and MPVs. This is a 5% increase compared to the 2023-24 fiscal year.

       Indian vehicle exports have received a warm reception globally: India’s competitiveness has increased. Recent measures such as consistent policies, personal income tax reforms, and the Reserve Bank’s interest rate cuts have helped boost consumer confidence and increased vehicle demand.

6 Lakh Trucks Halted: Karnataka Grinds to a Standstill

         Bengaluru: A statewide truck strike is underway in Karnataka today, triggered by several issues including the rising price of diesel, increased toll charges, and demands for revision of base freight rates. With nearly 6 lakh trucks off the roads, essential services across the state have been severely disrupted. The strike has been called by the Federation of Karnataka Lorry Owners’ Associations.

       The protest has received widespread support throughout the state. Due to the strike, distribution of water through tankers and supply of cooking gas cylinders has come to a complete halt, severely affecting high-rise residential buildings and several companies. Garment factories, including those manufacturing jeans, have also shut down operations.

       As the strike continues, the disruptions are expected to intensify. The government is holding talks today with representatives from the truck owners’ associations in an effort to reach a resolution. If no agreement is reached, the situation in the state may further deteriorate, and the prices of various goods may rise.

        Truck owners’ associations from Tamil Nadu have also extended their support to the strike, resulting in disrupted transport between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

‘One Alpha’ to Set Up Industrial Park in Tamil Nadu

        Chennai: Newly launched company One Alpha Ventures has announced its plan to establish an industrial park in Tamil Nadu. The company, which has been launched with the support of Kerala-based Sree Kailas Group, stated that it will focus on industrial and logistics infrastructure.

      As part of the first phase, One Alpha Ventures will set up an industrial and logistics park on 1.2 million square feet of land in Oragadam, near Chennai. The park will be developed in two phases, and the company stated that it aims to leverage opportunities in the automotive, electronics, and allied sectors within the state.

       In the first phase, construction work will be completed on 600,000 square feet, and operations are scheduled to begin by March next year. The second phase is expected to be completed within a year after that. One Alpha also mentioned that the industrial park will be designed to be business-ready, keeping in mind the needs of modern enterprises.

Industrial Production Growth Falls to 2.90%

         New Delhi: The country’s industrial production growth has declined to 2.90% in February, marking the lowest in six months, according to the National Statistical Office.

       The drop has been attributed to a decline in output from the manufacturing sector, mining, and electricity industries. In comparison, industrial production growth was 5.20% in January and stood at 5.60% in February 2024.

        Overall, the average industrial production growth for the 11-month period from April to February in the last financial year was 4.10%, a notable drop from the 6% recorded during the same period in the 2023–24 financial year.

      இந்த முடிவு, இரு நாடுகளுக்கு இடையேயான வர்த்தக ஒப்பந்த பேச்சு நடத்துவதற்கு சிறந்த வாய்ப்புகளை வழங்கும் என்று அவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

       கடந்த வாரம், உலக நாடுகளின் மீது பரஸ்பர வரி விதிப்பை அறிவித்திருந்த டிரம்ப், இது இரண்டு கட்டங்களாக செயல்படுத்தப்படும் என அறிவித்திருந்தார்.

      New Delhi:
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a 90-day suspension on reciprocal tariffs, bringing a sense of relief among Indian exporters.

      They expressed hope that this decision would offer a better opportunity for trade agreement negotiations between the two countries. Last week, Trump had announced reciprocal tariffs on countries around the world, stating that it would be implemented in two phases.

      As part of the first phase, a 10% base tariff was imposed on all countries starting April 6. The second phase was scheduled to come into full effect from April 9.

      However, just two days ago, when the first round of reciprocal tariffs was set to be fully implemented, Trump announced that tariffs on all countries—except China—would be suspended for the next 90 days.

      During this period, only a 10% base tariff will be collected on imports from other countries, he stated.

      Trump’s announcement has brought relief to Indian exporters.
Welcoming the decision, they said it would help avoid economic damage and facilitate trade negotiations.

     They also stated that in a recent meeting, India’s Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal assured that a bilateral trade agreement between India and the U.S. would be finalized soon.

Dixon Signs Agreement with Tamil Nadu Government for ₹1,000 Crore Laptop Factory – 5,000 Jobs to be Created

      Chennai: Dixon Technologies Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government to set up an electronics manufacturing plant in the IndoSpace Industrial Park located in Oragadam, Kanchipuram district. With an investment of ₹1,000 crore, the factory will produce laptops, all-in-one computers, and other electronic items, creating job opportunities for around 5,000 people.

     Founded in 1993, Dixon Technologies manufactures consumer electronics, lighting products, and electronic goods for the mobile phone market. The company produces items on a contract basis for major brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, boAt, Panasonic, TCL, and OnePlus.

      The MoU was signed in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin between Dixon Technologies and the state’s industrial guidance agency. This initiative is expected to generate employment opportunities for youth in and around Kanchipuram.

       அமெரிக்க வர்த்தக பிரதிநிதிகள் அமைப்பு, 2025ம் ஆண்டுக்கான தேசிய வர்த்தக மதிப்பீட்டு அறிக்கை ஒன்றை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

US Alleges India Over Ethanol Import Ban

      Washington: The United States Trade Representative (USTR) has alleged that India’s ban on ethanol imports is adversely affecting American exporters.

        The USTR released its 2025 National Trade Estimate Report, which highlights concerns over trade practices among key partners including India, China, Japan, and the European Union. The report accuses these countries of engaging in unfair trade practices that harm U.S. trade interests, and negatively impact American manufacturers, exporters, and workers.

     The report further states:

     Despite setting targets for blending ethanol with fuel, India has imposed a ban on the import of ethanol for fuel use. Similarly, Thailand has not permitted import licenses for ethanol since 2005, citing similar reasons.

      According to the report, if India and Thailand were to open their markets to U.S. ethanol, American exports could increase by up to ₹3,519 crore (approx. USD 420 million) annually.

     So reads the statement in the report.

BEL Secures ₹2,210 Crore Contract

Bengaluru: The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract worth ₹2,210 crore with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a central public sector enterprise, for the procurement of electronic warfare equipment.

       This contract aims to enhance the missile and anti-aircraft capabilities of the Indian Air Force’s medium-lift transport helicopters, specifically the ‘Mi-17V5’ models.

      The electronic warfare systems were developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), specifically by its lab – the Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS). BEL will be responsible for manufacturing the equipment.

      The procurement includes radar warning receivers, missile warning systems, and countermeasure systems capable of diverting or neutralizing enemy missiles.

      This initiative is expected to significantly boost the combat effectiveness of the Indian Air Force’s helicopter fleet.

India Tightens Monitoring on Influx of Chinese Goods

       New Delhi: In response to the impact of tariffs imposed by the United States on key trading partners, the Indian government is tightening its monitoring of Chinese imports. Consultation meetings are being held under the leadership of the Commerce Secretary to formulate related directives.

       Recently, U.S. President Trump signed an executive order imposing new reciprocal tariffs.

      These tariffs apply an additional 10 to 50 percent value-based tax on goods imported into the United States from various countries. Among those affected, China has been significantly impacted by a high tariff rate of 34 percent.

      Combined with the already existing 20 percent tariff on Chinese imports to the U.S., the total tariff burden has now risen to 54 percent.

                              பிளக்ஸ்ட்ரானிக்ஸ், பாக்ஸ்கார்ன் ஆகிய நிறுவனங்கள் இயங்கி வரும் ஸ்ரீபெரும்புதூரிலேயே கார்னிங் நிறுவனமும் அமையவுள்ளது. இதற்கான புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் அடுத்த ஆண்டு ஜனவரியில் நடைபெறும் முதலீட்டாளர்கள் மாநாட்டில் நடைபெறுகிறது. பிள்ளைப்பாக்கத்தில் 25 ஏக்கர் இடத்தில் இந்த தொழிற்சாலை அமையவுள்ளது. இதன் மூலம் முதல்கட்டமாக 300 பேருக்கு வேலைவாய்ப்புகள் தரப்படும். இதன் மூலம் ஆப்பிள் நிறுவனத்திற்கு பாதுகாப்பு கண்ணாடியை சப்ளை செய்யும் நிறுவனம் இந்தியாவில் அமைகிறதையே காட்டுகிறது. முன்னதாக தெலுங்கானாவில் செப்டம்பர் மாதம் இந்த நிறுவனம் அமைவதாக இருந்தது. ஆனால் தெலுங்கானாவை விட தமிழகத்திலேயே இந்த நிறுவனத்தை அமைக்க நிர்வாகத்தினர் விரும்பினர்களாம். தமிழகத்தில் மின்னணு பொருட்கள் உற்பத்திக்கான சூழல் உள்ளது. மேலும் ஆப்பிள் ஐபோனுக்கு இதர உதிரி பாகங்கள் தயாரிக்கும் நிறுவனங்களும் தமிழகத்தில் உள்ளது.

                                புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் கையெழுத்தாகிவிட்டால் நிறுவனத்தை அமைக்க ஓராண்டு ஆகும் என தெரிகிறது. பாக்ஸ்கான், பெகட்ரான், டாடா எலக்ட்ரானிக்ஸ் ஆகிய ஆப்பிள் நிறுவனத்தின் மிகப் பெரிய உற்பத்தியாளர்களுக்கு தமிழகம் தாய் வீடாக திகழ்கிறது. இந்த நிறுவனம் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டவுடன் முதலில் 30 மில்லியன் எண்ணிக்கையில் கண்ணாடிகளை தயாரிக்கும்.

₹1000 Crore Gorilla Glass Factory Near Chennai – What is Gorilla Glass?

Chennai: A ₹1000 crore Gorilla Glass manufacturing plant is set to be established near Chennai next year. The American company Corning Inc., which produces protective glass for Apple iPhones, is setting up this factory in Pillaipakkam, Sriperumbudur.

Corning Inc. will join other major electronics manufacturers like Flextronics and Foxconn, which are already operating in Sriperumbudur. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this project will be signed at the Investors’ Summit in January next year. The factory will be built on 25 acres of land in Pillaipakkam, providing employment to 300 people in its initial phase.

This development marks a significant step as Apple’s protective glass supplier will now have a base in India. Initially, Corning Inc. planned to set up the factory in Telangana in September. However, the management decided to establish it in Tamil Nadu instead, citing better infrastructure for electronic manufacturing. Tamil Nadu is already home to several companies that produce Apple iPhone components.

Once the MoU is signed, it is expected to take a year to set up the plant. Tamil Nadu is already a key manufacturing hub for Apple’s top suppliers, including Foxconn, Pegatron, and Tata Electronics. Once operational, the Corning facility will initially produce 30 million glass units per year.

The glass produced at this factory will be used for Apple iPhones and iPads, providing high durability and scratch resistance. Even if dropped, these screens prevent major damage to the device. In addition to Gorilla Glass, Corning also manufactures ceramic materials.

Gorilla Glass is highly durable, thin, and resistant to pressure. Some rumors falsely claimed that the glass is made using hair from gorillas, leading to the killing of many gorillas. However, this is completely false. The glass achieves its strength through a special ion-exchange process.

The agreement for this project was finalized under the leadership of Tamil Nadu Minister T.R.B. Raja.

Funding for Charging Stations on Bengaluru-Chennai Highway.

      New Delhi: The central government has planned to set up charging stations on more than 20 highways, including the Bengaluru-Chennai highway. Currently, there are 32,500 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the country. The target is to increase this number to 72,300 by the end of the current financial year.

      Oil companies alone set up 10,000 charging stations in the last financial year. These companies now operate a total of 25,852 charging stations across the country.

      The majority of charging stations are located in three states: Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra.

       To promote electric vehicles, ₹10,900 crore was allocated under the PM-eDrive initiative, of which ₹2,000 crore was earmarked for charging stations.

      Currently, charging stations are available at airports in New Delhi and Kochi, as well as on highways such as Delhi-Jaipur-Agra and Chennai-Tiruchirappalli.

Renault Acquires Nissan’s Stake in the Renault-Nissan Plant

Chennai: It has been officially announced that Renault is set to acquire Nissan’s 51% stake in the Renault-Nissan manufacturing plant.

The Renault-Nissan partnership established a car manufacturing plant in 2008 at Oragadam Industrial Estate in Chennai. In this joint venture, Renault held a 49% stake, while Nissan owned a 51% stake.

Due to financial difficulties, Nissan has decided to sell its stake, and Renault has announced that it will fully acquire Nissan’s shares.

From now on, the plant will operate entirely under Renault’s control. However, as the partnership continues, Nissan cars will continue to be produced at the facility.

         Mumbai: Tata Group’s Tata AutoComp Systems has announced that it has acquired an 80% stake in the British company Artefex Interior Systems for ₹827 crore.

         This acquisition has been made through Jaguar Land Rover Ventures, a subsidiary of the Tata Group.

         Artefex specializes in manufacturing interior components such as instrument panels, seat armrests, glove boxes, and other interior accessories.

         The company supplies luxury car manufacturers including Jaguar Land Rover, BMW, Bentley, and Toyota.

          As digital transactions continue to rise, it has been observed that a majority of Indian professionals prefer rewards such as cashback and loyalty points.

         Fintech company KreditBee, which provides loans through the UPI platform, collaborated with digital consumer platform UnoMore to conduct a study on digital transactions among Indian professionals aged 21 to 35.

         The study found that 77% of respondents review digital transaction-related reward points before making financial decisions, while 50% expect cashback offers on every transaction.

        The study also revealed that most individuals prefer UPI for small transactions. However, a significant number of respondents also favor the interest-free period offered by credit cards.

Hyundai in ‘Nifty Next 50’ Index

       Mumbai: Hyundai Motor India has been included in the Nifty Next 50, Nifty 100, and Nifty 500 indices on the National Stock Exchange.

       The country’s third-largest car manufacturer, Hyundai Motor India, entered the Indian stock market through an initial public offering (IPO) on October 22 last year. Since March 24, it has also been included in indices such as the BSE 500 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

       Regarding this, Hyundai Motor India’s Managing Director, Unsoo Kim, stated:

       “As a publicly listed company, we have reached another significant milestone. Being included in key Indian stock market indices such as Nifty Next 50 and BSE 500 demonstrates the stability and strong credibility of Hyundai India’s shares in the market.”

Chip Manufacturing Equipment Export Begins from Coimbatore

         Coimbatore: For the first time in the country, the export of a crucial device called “Verotherm Formic Acid Reflow,” used in chip manufacturing, has been initiated by Yield Engineering Systems (YES) from Coimbatore.

        Yield Engineering Systems, headquartered in California, USA, launched its manufacturing facility in Sulur, Coimbatore, in September last year as part of its global customer service expansion plan. Now, the company has begun manufactureng and exporting equipment used in semiconductor chip production.

       This advanced chip manufacturing equipment, produced in India for the first time, is utilized in the production of high-performance memory (HPM) and ultra-fast computing applications, both of which are key components in artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

        Regarding this development, Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, stated:

      “The export of key equipment for chip manufacturing from Yield Engineering Systems’ facility marks a significant advancement in India’s semiconductor industry.”

            புதுடில்லி:சிறு, குறு நிறுவனங்களிடம் பொருட்கள் அல்லது சேவையை பெற்று, 45 நாட்களுக்கு மேலாக தொகையை நிலுவை வைத்துள்ள நிறுவனங்கள், கட்டாயம் அரையாண்டு நிதிநிலை அறிக்கை தாக்கல் செய்ய வேண்டும் என, மத்திய அரசு உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது.

             சிறு, குறு நிறுவனங்கள், நிலுவை தொடர்பாக, மத்திய அரசின் எம்.எஸ்.எம்.இ., சமாதான் தளத்தில், இதுவரை 97,000க்கும் அதிகமான விண்ணப்பங்களை தாக்கல் செய்துள்ளன.

          இந்நிறுவனங்களுக்கு மொத்தம் 21,600 கோடி ரூபாய்க்கு கூடுதலான தொகை வர வேண்டியுள்ளது. நிலுவைத் தொகை திருப்பிச் செலுத்தாத பட்டியலில், மத்திய, மாநில அரசுகளின் கீழ் இயங்கும் பொதுத்துறை நிறுவனங்களும் அடங்கும்.

New Order for Pending Payments to Small Businesses

            New Delhi: The Central Government has issued a directive requiring companies that have procured goods or services from small and micro enterprises (SMEs) and have delayed payments beyond 45 days to mandatorily submit a half-yearly financial report.

          So far, more than 97,000 applications have been filed on the MSME Samadhan portal regarding pending payments. The total outstanding amount owed to these enterprises exceeds ₹21,600 crore. The list of defaulters includes public sector undertakings (PSUs) under both the Central and State Governments.

        As per the new directive, companies that procure goods and services from small and micro enterprises must submit a half-yearly financial report to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) if they fail to clear payments within 45 days.

          The report must specify the amount due and the reasons for the delay in payment.

Tata Group Acquires Swedish Auto Parts Company

        Pune: Tata AutoComp Systems, the auto components division of the Tata Group, has announced the acquisition of Sweden-based International Automotive Components (IAC).

        IAC specializes in manufacturing vehicle interior components and spare parts, with an annual revenue of ₹6,640 crore. The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed, but the deal is subject to European regulatory approval.

        IAC has three manufacturing plants in Sweden and supplies components to major companies such as Volvo Cars, Volvo Trucks, and Scania.

Anti-Dumping Duty on 5 Chinese Goods: Central Government’s Measure to Protect Domestic Industry.

       India has imposed an anti-dumping duty on five products imported at low prices from neighboring China. The central government has taken this step to protect domestic industries.

       According to a notification issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) under the Revenue Department, the following five products are being imported from China at prices lower than usual: vacuum flasks, aluminum sheets, magnetic materials used in electronic components, trichloroisocyanuric acid, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) paste resin.

      Due to this, domestic manufacturers engaged in these industries are struggling to compete in the market. To safeguard local industries, the government has imposed an anti-dumping duty on these Chinese products. This duty will remain in effect for five years.

        மத்திய மறைமுக வரிகள் மற்றும் சுங்க வாரியம், சுங்க விதிகள் (வர்த்தக ஒப்பந்தங்களின் கீழ் சான்று விதிகள் நிர்வாகம்) 2020ல், பல்வேறு பொருட்களுக்கு சான்றிதழ் என்பதற்கு பதிலாக, ஆதாரத்துடன் கூடிய சான்றிதழ் என திருத்தி உள்ளது. இது மார்ச் 18 முதல் அமலுக்கு வந்துள்ளதாக தெரிவித்து உள்ளது.

        இறக்குமதிக்கான கட்டுப்பாடுகளை அதிகரிப்பதே இதன் நோக்கம். குறிப்பாக, சீனாவில் இருந்து மொபைல் போன், மின்னணு பொருட்கள் உள்ளிட்டவை வியட்நாம், இலங்கை மற்றும் ஐக்கிய அரபு எமிரேட்ஸ் நாடுகள் வழியாக கொண்டு வந்து, போலியாக தடையில்லா வர்த்தக ஒப்பந்தத்தின் நன்மைகளை பெற்று வருகின்றனர்.
        இதனால் ஏற்படும் அதிகபட்ச வரி ஏய்ப்பை கட்டுப்படுத்த இந்த திருத்தம் செய்யப்பட்டு உள்ளது.

Proof of Country of Origin is Mandatory for Imports.

        New Delhi: To ensure the benefits of free trade agreements (FTAs) are availed correctly, the central government has made it mandatory to provide proof of the country of origin for imported goods.

       The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has amended the Customs (Administration of Rules of Origin under Trade Agreements) Rules, 2020, replacing the term “certificate” with “certificate with supporting evidence” for various products. This amendment has come into effect from March 18, 2025.

Officials stated:
          The primary objective of this amendment is to tighten import regulations. In particular, mobile phones, electronic goods, and other products from China are being routed through Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and the UAE to falsely claim benefits under FTAs.

        To curb maximum tax evasion arising from such practices, this amendment has been implemented.

Cognizant to Establish a 14-Acre Learning Center at Siruseri Campus

     Chennai: Cognizant has announced its plan to set up a learning center spanning 14 acres at its Siruseri campus in Chennai.

       This center, set to be established over the next three years, will provide training in advanced artificial intelligence technologies to 100,000 employees annually.

         Designed to accommodate approximately 14,000 seats, the center will feature smart classrooms, incubator centers, customer experience zones, design thinking labs, residential facilities, and wellness amenities.

         Additionally, this center will support other learning centers being set up in cities such as Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Pune, and Kochi. It will also serve as a platform for collaboration among technology firms, academicians, customers, and the public, facilitating research and learning initiatives that contribute to industrial advancement. This was stated in the announcement.

2,325 நிறுவனங்கள் ரூ.25,000 கோடி முதலீடு

        சென்னை:உலக முதலீட்டாளர்கள் மாநாட்டில், சிறு, குறு, நடுத்தர தொழில் துறையுடன் புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் செய்ததில், தமிழகத்தில் இதுவரை, 2,325 நிறுவனங்கள், 25,003 கோடி ரூபாய் முதலீட்டில் தொழில்களை துவக்கியுள்ளன.

        தமிழக அரசு, தொழில் நிறுவனங்களின் முதலீட்டை ஈர்க்க, 2024 ஜனவரியில் உலக முதலீட்டாளர்கள் மாநாட்டை நடத்தியது. இதன் வாயிலாக, பல துறைகளில் ஒட்டுமொத்தமாக, 6.64 லட்சம் கோடி ரூபாய்க்கு முதலீட்டை ஈர்க்க பல்வேறு நிறுவனங்களுடன் புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் செய்தது.

           அதன்படி, சிறு, குறு, நடுத்தர தொழில் நிறுவனங்கள் துறை சார்பில், 5,068 நிறுவனங்கள் வாயிலாக, 63,573 கோடி ரூபாய்க்கு முதலீடுகள் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டன. இதனால், 89,519 வேலைவாய்ப்புகள் உருவாகியுள்ளன என தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

2,325 Companies Invest ₹25,000 Crore

           Chennai: As part of the agreements signed with the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector at the Global Investors Meet, a total of 2,325 companies have started operations in Tamil Nadu with an investment of ₹25,003 crore.

         To attract industrial investments, the Tamil Nadu government organized the Global Investors Meet in January 2024. Through this initiative, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with various companies, securing a total investment commitment of ₹6.64 lakh crore across multiple sectors.

        As per the agreement, the MSME sector alone has attracted investments worth ₹63,573 crore through 5,068 companies. This has resulted in the creation of 89,519 job opportunities, according to reports.

         சென்னை மறைமலை நகரில் உள்ள ‘போர்டு’ நிறுவனத்தின் ஆலையில், இன்ஜின் உற்பத்தி செய்து வெளிநாடுகளுக்கு ஏற்றுமதி செய்ய அந்நிறுவனம் திட்டமிட்டுள்ளதாக  தகவல் வெளியாகி உள்ளது. இந்த ஆண்டின் இரண்டாம் காலாண்டில், உற்பத்தி துவங்க இருப்பதாகவும்; கார்கள் உற்பத்தி செய்யப்படாது என்றும் கூறப்படுகிறது.

          அமெரிக்க அரசு, உள்நாட்டு உற்பத்தியை ஊக்குவிக்கும் வகையில், அதிக இறக்குமதி வரி விதிப்பதால், இங்கு கார் உற்பத்தி திட்டத்தை இந்நிறுவனம் கைவிட்டதாக தெரிகிறது.

  2022க்கு பிறகு, போர்டின் குஜராத் ஆலையை டாடா நிறுவனம் கையகப்படுத்தினாலும், அங்கிருந்து இந்நிறுவனத்திற்கு தேவையான உதிரிபாகங்கள் ஏற்றுமதி செய்யப்படுகின்றன.

     தற்போது சென்னை ஆலையில், இன்ஜின் மற்றும் அது தொடர்பான உற்பத்தி மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் என கூறப்படுகிறது.

         முன்னதாக, என்டேவர், எவரெஸ்ட் மற்றும் மஸ்டாங் ஆகிய மின்சார மாடல் கார்களை இங்கு உற்பத்தி செய்ய, இந்நிறுவனம் ஆய்வு மேற்கொண்ட நிலையில், தற்போது அது நிறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தெரிகிறது.

         கால் நுாற்றாண்டு காலமாக இந்திய சந்தையில் இருந்த போர்டு நிறுவனம், கடும் போட்டி, அதிக செலவு பிடிக்கும் கார் பராமரிப்பு, கார்களை மேம்படுத்தாதது, புதிய அறிமுகங்கள் இல்லாதது போன்ற காரணங்களால், விற்பனையில் கடும் சரிவை சந்தித்தது.

         இதையடுத்து செப்டம்பர் 2021ம் ஆண்டில், இந்தியாவில் கார் உற்பத்தி மற்றும் விற்பனையை நிறுத்துவதாக தெரிவித்தது.  இந்தியாவில், இந்நிறுவனத்துக்கு 17,310 கோடி ரூபாய் மதிப்பில் இழப்பு ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.

Car Production Halted in Chennai; Only Engine Manufacturing Planned.

          It has been reported that the ‘Ford’ company’s plant in Maraimalai Nagar, Chennai, is planning to manufacture engines and export them overseas. Production is expected to begin in the second quarter of this year, and it has been confirmed that no cars will be manufactured.

          Due to high import taxes imposed by the U.S. government to encourage domestic manufacturing, the company seems to have abandoned its plan to produce cars in India.

          After 2022, Ford’s Gujarat plant was acquired by Tata Motors, but it continues to export essential spare parts needed for Ford’s operations.

         Currently, the Chennai plant is expected to focus only on engine and related component manufacturing.

         Earlier, Ford had explored the possibility of manufacturing electric models like Endeavour, Everest, and Mustang in Chennai. However, this plan has now been abandoned.

         Across the country, Ford’s sales outlets have been shut down, and only service centers remain operational. As a result, the company is now focusing solely on production for export.

        Ford, which had been in the Indian market for over a quarter of a century, faced significant challenges due to intense competition, high maintenance costs, lack of vehicle upgrades, and limited new model introductions, leading to a sharp decline in sales.

        Subsequently, in September 2021, the company announced that it would cease car production and sales in India. It has been reported that Ford incurred a loss of ₹17,310 crore in the Indian market.

           புதுடில்லி:ஸ்டீலுக்கான புதிய தரக் கட்டுப்பாடு விதிமுறைகளால், ஆணி, நட், போல்ட் உள்ளிட்ட ஸ்டீல் உதிரி பாகங்களின் இறக்குமதி பாதிக்கப்படுவதோடு, இதன் உற்பத்தியில் ஈடுபட்டு வரும் சிறுதொழில் நிறுவனங்களும் கடுமையாக பாதிக்கப்படக்கூடிய வாய்ப்புள்ளதாக ஜி.டி.ஆர்.ஐ., அமைப்பு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

          இதனால், வேலை இழப்புகள் ஏற்படக்கூடிய அபாயம் உள்ளதாகவும் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

         அதுமட்டுமல்லாமல், வாகனம், ஏரோஸ்பேஸ், மின்னணுவியல், பாதுகாப்பு உள்ளிட்ட துறைகளின் உற்பத்தியும் பாதிக்கப்படும் என எச்சரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

           ஏனென்றால், இத்துறைகளில் பயன்படுத்தப்படும் உயர்தர ஸ்டீல் பாகங்கள் இந்தியாவில் தயாரிக்கப்படுவதில்லை; இறக்குமதி செய்யப்படுகின்றன.

புதிய விதிமுறைகளின்படி, இதை ஏற்றுமதி செய்யும் வெளிநாட்டு நிறுவனங்கள், பி.ஐ.எஸ்., எனும் இந்திய தர நிர்ணய ஆணையத்தின் அனுமதி பெறுவது கட்டாயமாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

            இதுவரை எந்த ஒரு வெளிநாட்டு மற்றும் இந்திய நிறுவனமும் இதற்கான அனுமதி பெறவில்லை என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. இந்நிலையில், வரும் 20ம் தேதி முதல் புதிய விதிமுறைகள் நடைமுறைக்கு வர உள்ளதால், இவற்றின் இறக்குமதி தடைபடும் சூழல் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.

             கடந்தாண்டு மட்டும் 9,500 கோடி ரூபாய்க்கு வெளிநாட்டிலிருந்து ஆணி, நட், போல்ட் உள்ளிட்டவை இறக்குமதி செய்யப்பட்டன. சீனாவிலிருந்து மட்டும் 2,660 கோடி ரூபாய்க்கு இறக்குமதி செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தது.

Steel Quality Control Regulations Will Impact Small Businesses

          New Delhi: The new quality control regulations for steel are expected to not only affect the import of steel components such as bolts, nuts, and screws but also severely impact small businesses involved in their production, according to the G.D.R.I. (General Directorate of Industrial Research) organization. There is a risk of job losses due to these regulations.

           Furthermore, the production in sectors like automotive,  aerospace, electronics, and defense is also likely to be affected. This is because high-quality steel components used in these industries are not produced in India and are imported.

           Under the new regulations, foreign companies exporting these items must obtain permission from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), which sets the Indian quality standards. It is noteworthy that neither foreign nor Indian companies have received this approval yet. With the new rules set to come into effect from the 20th of this month, there will be a situation where these imports will be restricted.

           Last year alone, steel components like bolts, nuts, and screws worth ₹9,500 crore were imported. Of this, ₹2,660 crore worth of imports came from China.

பேப்பர் மற்றும் பேப்பர் அட்டை இறக்குமதி 20 சதவீதம் உயர்வு

            நடப்பு நிதியாண்டின் ஏப்ரல் முதல் டிசம்பர் வரையிலான காலத்தில், பேப்பர் மற்றும் பேப்பர் அட்டை இறக்குமதி 20 சதவீதம் உயர்ந்து, 17.60 லட்சம் டன்னாக அதிகரித்து இருப்பதாக இந்திய பேப்பர் உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் கூட்டமைப்பு தெரிவித்துள்ளது. மதிப்பின் அடிப்படையில், 11,196 கோடி ரூபாய் அளவுக்கு இறக்குமதி செய்யப்பட்டு உள்ளது.

    முதல் 9 மாதங்களில், 10,000 கோடி ரூபாய்க்கு மேல் பேப்பர் இறக்குமதி செய்யப்படுவது இதுவே முதல்முறை. இதே காலத்தில், பிற நாடுகளை விட, சீனாவில் இருந்து 36 சதவீதம் அளவுக்கு பேப்பர் இறக்குமதி அதிகரித்து உள்ளது.

Tata Motors Introduces New Cars in the Sri Lankan Market.

        In our neighboring country Sri Lanka, Tata Motors has reintroduced new car models, including electric cars. In collaboration with its authorized dealer, Timo, Tata has launched the Punch, Nexon, and Curvv car models, along with the electric version of the Tiago car in Sri Lanka.
        Regarding this, Yash Khandelwal, the Head of Tata Motors’ International Electric Vehicles Business, said, “We have started a new chapter of our international business operations in Sri Lanka. Tata Motors, which has seen significant changes over the past few years, is making a great return with new products.”
Paper and Paperboard Imports Rise by 20%
        In the current financial year, during the period from April to December, paper and paperboard imports have increased by 20%, reaching 1.76 million tonnes, according to the Indian Paper Manufacturers Association. The value of these imports has amounted to ₹11,196 crores.
        In the first 9 months, paper imports exceeding ₹10,000 crores mark the first occurrence of this. During this period, paper imports from China have risen by 36% compared to other countries.
